Dr David Hunt awarded Wellcome Trust Senior Research Fellowship

Dr David Hunt (Centre for Clinical Brain Sciences) has been awarded a prestigious Wellcome Trust Senior Research Fellowship to study the molecular mechanisms by which chronic inflammation can damage the brain, especially the fragile network of small blood vessels. The research will help researchers understand how neurological disease might be prevented in immune diseases such as lupus and potentially how dementias might develop.

Dr Hunt, who is also an honorary consultant neurologist at the Anne Rowling Regenerative Neurology Clinic, will be based in the laboratories of the UK Dementia Research Institute and MRC Institute of Genetics & Molecular Medicine.
