Edinburgh Neuroscience teamed up with The Roslin Institute and other members of Edinburgh Medical School to deliver a one day Human Body drop-in activity at the BBC Festivals venue at George Heriot’s School last week. The day was one in a series of activities for younger audiences that had a science theme and supported BBC Learning’s 'Terrific Scientific' campaign, a bold and ambitious initiative to inspire children and young people to engage in science

With multiple stands clustered around a disembowelled William Wallace model, visitors were encouraged to explore their organs (heart, lungs, brain) and get involved in real dissections of brains and hearts (which was incredibly popular). Over 1,400 children visited with their parents/carers so it was a very busy day! Many thanks to all our volunteers, whose hard worked contributed to the success of the day!
