Functional Neurological Disorders flying high!

The functional Disorders group (led by Jon Stone and Alan Carson, Centre for Clinical Brain Sciences) are having a bumper week of good news.
They have just had a feature article "Decoding a Disorder at the Interface of Mind and Brain” published in the November 2020 issue of Scientific American, which is exciting for Jon because, like many other researchers, his dad used to give him copies of Scientific American as a child and this sparked his interest in science. The article is behind a paywall but the whole issue looks really interesting - being themed around misinformation (see link below).
They have also been awarded £40K from the Scottish Government to improve their website, neurosymptoms.org, for people with FND and create an accompanying App. This website is incredibly well used globally (it has been viewed over 9 million times) and is a very valuable resource for patients.
Finally, the FND group have published a review article in the British Medical Journal this week 'Recognising and explaining functional neurological disorder', with a colleague from Sheffield (see link below). This article is open access so can be read by all.
